Miklós BORSOS, painter
He was born in 1906, in Nagyszeben.
Miklós Borsos began working as a painter, then
turned towards plastic art, which, along with drawing,
filled his life. His drawing art had its origins in
his soul, in his emotional, spiritual and mental needs.
His painting was motivated by his need to become an
artist. His sculpture art was stimulated by his basic
attraction towards shapes and the challenge of his manual
knowledge that came from his engraver practice in his
father’s workshop.
In his drawings he reached painting-like effects just
with a few lines and fine tonality, he created a lyric
atmosphere: besides immortalizing his own experiences
he was looking for the signs of stability in a moment,
states of existing, cosmic relations and finally the
superior completeness of existence.
The artist passed away in 1990.
