László Kutas , sculptor
He was born in Budapest, 17th April
1936. As a grammar-school student he became acquainted
with the basics of graphic art at Erno ÁGOSTON’s
free school in Sopron. Between 1954 and 1960 he attended
the Hungarian Fine Art School, where Tamás GYENES
and Pál PÁTZAI were his masters. His prizes
and awards: 1st Prize, Giorgia Vasari International
Medal Competition, Florence (1974); 2nd and 3rd prizes
at Sportmedal Competition (1975), Special Prize at the
Silver Spear Competition (1976), Silver Medal at Dante
Biennial, Raven (1979), Roisz Vilmos Prize at the National
Medal Art Biennial, Sopron (1991, 1995). His exhibitions
were held not only in Hungary but also in Hamburg, Brussels,
Amsterdam, Tokyo, Düsseldorf , and Vienna.
